Indiana University invites nominations and applications for the position of Chancellor, Indiana University Kokomo. The Chancellor exercises broad responsibility for all aspects of the campus' academic, financial, and administrative dimensions, in coordination with the university administration and the other Indiana University regional campuses. IU seeks an energetic, student-focused, dynamic, ethical individual to lead and engage its faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and community into the campus’ next chapter. The Chancellor reports to the Vice President for Regional Campuses, Ken Iwama, who reports to IU President, Pamela Whitten.

One of the seven Indiana University campuses, IU Kokomo is a regional, public institution serving just over 2,900 students at the undergraduate (~2,700) and master’s (~200) levels with excellent academic and preprofessional programs across its four schools. Kokomo’s culture is rooted in its commitment to student access and opportunity, academic excellence, regional engagement, and innovation. IU Kokomo is a key economic driver in the region, and its students, most of whom both hail from and remain in the region after graduation, continue to contribute enormously to the advancement of the region in every field and discipline.

The Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer of Indiana University Kokomo and reports to the Vice President of Regional Campuses. The Chancellor works closely with the Vice President and senior administration of Indiana University. On the Kokomo campus, the Chancellor’s senior cabinet team includes the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Vice Chancellor of Advancement and Media & Marketing, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Vice Chancellor for Finance, the Director of Physical Facilities, the Regional Chief Information Officer, and the Senior Advisor to the Chancellor.

The Chancellor will lead IU Kokomo in advancing its contributions to fulfilling the mission of Indiana University. In addition, the Chancellor will guide IU Kokomo in commitments to excellence in teaching and scholarship, student-centeredness, service learning, and engaged citizenship. The Chancellor will provide strong leadership in achieving current goals and establishing new and ambitious ones to move the campus forward.

Strong candidates will have a demonstrated record of leadership as an executive officer in a complex organization, preferably in higher education, including a passion for student success and community engagement. A deep knowledge and understanding of the academic mission and fundraising are strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strategic thinking and possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, be collaborative and creative, and able to articulate a vision to diverse audiences.

• Terminal degree
• Demonstrated record of increasing leadership responsibilities
• Experience managing complex budgets
• Demonstrated experience working with external constituencies

This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in Indiana. Salary is commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
