The Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor across all areas of Earth and Planetary Science.
We seek individuals who will lead world-class research programs and enhance the intellectual endeavors of the department and the university. Ongoing research interests and activities can be found on the department website.
Note: The Department is carrying out a parallel search focused on Earth and Planetary Materials at all ranks, including Assistant Professor, whose research focuses on geochemistry, geophysics, cosmochemistry, planetary evolution, or related fields. Qualifications
Completion of all requirements for the PhD in Earth or planetary sciences or a related field prior to appointment is required.

Base salary range for this position is:
Assistant Professor: $120,000 - $150,000
The base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment. Individuals may be eligible for summer salary. This position may be eligible for a taxable moving allowance.
