The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor (3-year renewable term) or Associate Teaching Professor (5-year renewable term) position in the Accounting area, with a school affiliation in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. Candidates would be appointed at the rank that is appropriate given their experience and performance. The intended start date of this position is July 1, 2027. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY, with teaching responsibilities completed in person on the Ithaca campus in both fall and spring semesters.

This is an academic-year (i.e., 9 month) appointment. Responsibilities of the position include teaching five three-credit courses per year in financial accounting, managerial accounting, tax, auditing, and/or related accounting courses to undergraduate and graduate students.  Preference will be given to applicants who can teach multiple topics.  Teaching assignments may change to meet the needs of the curriculum, as determined by College leadership.  Although the primary role for this position is teaching, the School expects faculty to participate in student and school events including student advising, school projects, etc. The successful applicant will also be expected to maintain current AACSB standards for a scholarly academic (SA) or scholarly practitioner (SP), depending on their qualifications.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in accounting or closely related field. Candidates holding a Masters' degree in accounting also will be considered, and preference will be given to such candidates with professional experience in accounting and certification as a CPA, CMA, CIA, and/or equivalent. Candidates should have extensive experience effectively teaching accounting at the undergraduate, MBA, and/or executive MBA levels, as demonstrated through course evaluations, and have a sincere enthusiasm for teaching, student support, and collegial interaction.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business includes three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan). It is expected that our faculty teach across multiple schools within the College of Business.

In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the minimum annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $200,000.  This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months, paid over 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, additional pay for overload teaching, or other items.
