DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES

Tarleton State University seeks an experienced educator, researcher, and administrator to serve as Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean provides executive leadership for the College's academic programs, research activity, and external partnerships, and contributes to the goals of Tarleton Forward 2030, the University's Strategic Plan.

Tarleton State is a Carnegie R2 Doctoral University and a member of the Texas A&M University System, serving nearly 21,000 students on its main campus in Stephenville and additional campuses in Fort Worth, Waco, and RELLIS-Bryan. The University offers 90 bachelor's, 45 master's, and seven doctoral degrees across 11 Colleges, and enrollment has grown for six consecutive years.

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources includes the departments of Animal Science; Agricultural Education and Communication; and Wildlife and Natural Resources, along with a division of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics. The College serves more than 2,500 majors and over 100 faculty and staff, offering nine bachelor's and five master's degrees, as well as a Ph.D. program that addresses food and energy production alongside natural resource conservation. Students work in the Tarleton Agriculture Center, which includes the Equine Center, Southwest Regional Dairy, and Animal and Plant Science Center, and the College maintains a partnership with the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences that gives qualified Tarleton students expanded admission opportunities.

The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in a field housed in the College, along with a record of scholarship, teaching, and service supporting appointment as a tenured full professor. Prior academic leadership experience, demonstrated fiscal stewardship, and success securing external funding and partnerships are expected.
