Position Overview:
The Executive Director of Human Resources oversees all aspects of human resources, including recruitment and retention, policy development, employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, and HR technology integration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership in a complex organizational environment, possess strong analytical and communication skills, and maintain a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.

Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Finance, the Executive Director of Human Resources will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is part of CUNY’s Executive Compensation Plan. All executive-level positions require, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree and eight (8) years of related professional experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of human resources best practices, employment law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably Oracle/PeopleSoft.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
SHRM certification or other relevant human resources certification.
Experience working in a unionized, higher education, or public sector environment.
Proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology to enhance HR functions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience: $145,000 - $155,000
