The University of South Alabama – a dynamic public research university located on the Gulf Coast – invites nominations and applications for the role of Dean of the Graduate School.
The Graduate School at the University of South Alabama administers the University’s advanced academic and professional programs, offering more than 50 graduate and professional degree options across a wide range of disciplines. Graduate study at USA is designed to support career advancement, independent research, and intellectual development, as well as the University’s R1 roadmap. Programs span master’s, doctoral, and interdisciplinary degrees across the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Business, Education, Nursing, Medicine, Allied Health, and Computing, among others. The University offers traditional on-campus, online, and hybrid formats depending on the program, and opportunities exist for assistantships, scholarships, and accelerated bachelor’s-to-master’s pathways.
The Dean serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Graduate School and reports to the Executive Vice President and Provost. The Dean collaborates across campus with all Deans, the Vice President for Research, and Center Directors to grow and elevate the University’s graduate programs. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, forward-thinking leader with significant academic leadership experience, a track record of scholarly achievement, and a demonstrated commitment to graduate education, research, and community engagement.
