Analyze and provide projected trends (global, national, regional, state and institutional) in enrollment and admissions that are critical to campus planning and meeting the undergraduate enrollment goals established by the university and within the strategic enrollment plan. Work with campus partners and external vendors to ensure data integrity across units and within various systems. Set the strategic direction and manage the operational functions of the area. Responsible for the data and decision support of enrollment management initiatives, including assessing ROI across key initiative and investment areas. This position reports directly to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and supervises a staff of six exempt employees who provide standard and ad hoc reports to both internal EM units and external campus constituents. The position also has planning, budgeting, and operational line responsibility. Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, Memphis The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Medicine, invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology.  Overview  The Department of Ophthalmology academic and clinical faculty is comprised of nationally and internationally renowned board-certified physicians and scientists specializing in study of the eye, treatment of eye disease, and research to prevent blindness. Highlights include: A department consisting of a core of 22 full-time faculty (13 MDs, 6 PhDs, 2 MD PhDs, 1 OD), a highly engaged and active cadre of faculty with secondary appointments and affiliations, and 15 residents plus 6 fellows. The Department’s research efforts are supported through 2 major DOD and multiple NIH R01 research awards along with funding from notable national foundations and private sources. There is a strong focus on age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, the genetics of the eye, ocular trauma, stem cell therapeutics, and ocular oncology. The Department’s Hamilton Eye Institute (HEI), for which the Chair serves as Director, is among the nation’s premier vision treatment and research facilities. It serves patients in its own treatment and ambulatory surgical facilities on the UTHSC campus; in the suburban satellite facility of University Clinical Health (UCH); in all hospitals in Memphis and much of the surrounding area; and in international medical outreach programs and telemedicine activities. HEI maintains a significant national patient census. The HEI campus facility is the major tenant of a multi-use medical building containing physician offices, an adjacent parking garage, a food court, and administration offices. In addition to space currently occupied by the Department of Ophthalmology and HEI, the building has space available for future expansion. This ophthalmology campus space has approximately 17,000 sq ft for research, 43,000 sq ft for clinical, and 11,000 sq ft for administrative activities. Reporting to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the successful candidate will: lead the development and implementation of a vision for equity, diversity, and inclusion across academic affairs; collaborate with university’s leadership to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion goals and priorities across the university, especially those that directly affect academic, faculty and student affairs; partner to support existing and new equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives for students and faculty; champion faculty development and advancement; and prioritize working closely with students across the campus.
