The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) School of Social Work (SSW) invites applications for a Program Coordinator, Field Education non-tenure track position beginning October 1, 2017. The School of Social Work (SSW) offers CSWE accredited BSW and MSW programs. The Field Coordinator provides leadership for field education activities including coordinating the placement process, recruiting practicum agencies, planning and implementing field instructor training, developing and maintaining appropriate records and communication with field agencies, and supervising field liaison’s. The field coordinator will also be expected to lead a small team that includes an Assistant Field Coordinator, an Administrative Assistant, and faculty liaisons. Additionally, the Field Coordinator will teach one 3-credit course per year and provide service to the profession, university and community. We are seeking a colleague whose innovative ideas support our mission of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and who shares our commitment to social justice. Required Qualifications: A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program and two years of related professional experience. Preferred Qualifications: Certification and Licensure: State of Nevada -License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) OR Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) OR Licensed Social Worker (LSW). -Working with social work education programs, an understanding of the Council on Social Work Accreditation field education standards, and a basic understanding of BSW and MSW curricula. -A documented ability to work as an effective team member and present a broad perspective on social work education that transcends geographical borders. -Related Experience: Post-BSW or Post –MSW professional social work practice to include two years in college teaching and/or field program administration. The School of Social Work is part of the University’s Division of Health Sciences.
