Assistant Director, Career Development Isenberg School of Management University of Massachusetts Amherst UMass Amherst is one of the major public research universities in America. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Chase Career Center, the Assistant Director will apply industry-specific knowledge in performing career advising and placement duties with Isenberg School Of Management students. The primary focus will be on students seeking professional-level internships and/or permanent placement career outcomes in a wide variety of corporate or non-profit organizations. This position will also be responsible for maintaining recruiting relationships with corporations/organizations and being proactive with regard to furthering Isenberg student career and professional development outcomes, as well as contributing to various Chase Career Center initiatives, including enhancing on-campus recruitment. Position requires two years' professional related experience in a business discipline or higher education services. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Counseling, or a related field is also required. Preference given to candidates that hold a Master's degree in Business Administration, Counseling, or related field with one year of professional related experience in a business discipline or experience in higher education services. Required skills and abilities include the following: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, representatives of business and government, faculty, alumni, and senior corporate executives, including evidence of a clear understanding of, and a commitment to, cultural, social, economic and ethnic diversity. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to independently prioritize work and handle multiple tasks. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Ability to participate in team projects as assigned. Computer literacy, proficiency with contemporary software programs. Ability and willingness to attend meetings both on and off campus; with or without groups of students. Required to work some nights and weekends and to travel Preferred skills and abilities include the following: An understanding of market trends and the ability to develop tactics to expand employment opportunities for Isenberg students.
