Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, the nation’s largest Historically Black University and a premier doctoral research, land-grant institution, is seeking a strategic and relationally oriented leader to serve as the next Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) and Dean of Students is the Deputy Chief Student Affairs Officer and a critical advisor on student conduct, support, and safety. This senior student affairs leader provides strategic oversight for the Office of the Dean of Students and provides secondary supervision for Housing and Residence Life to ensure integrated divisional operations. The Associate Vice Chancellor coordinates the student conduct enterprise, chairs the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), and manages complex student crises in close collaboration with community partners. As a highly visible member of the N.C. A&T community, the Associate Vice Chancellor cultivates intentional relationships with academic and administrative colleagues to enhance the N.C. A&T student experience through proactive advocacy, policy administration, and the streamlined delivery of support services for a safe, thriving campus community driven by innovation, best practices, and institutional priorities.

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students is an experienced and strategically minded leader with a commitment to, and passion for, student development. Qualified candidates for this role will have a minimum of ten years of progressive leadership and supervision experience within a post-secondary setting, including at least three years of experience directing a department or functional area within student affairs. The Associate Vice Chancellor will have extensive expertise in student conduct administration, threat assessment, higher education policy, and crisis management, as well as a strong foundation in policy development and compliance.
Responsibilities for this full-time position will be performed on-site in North Carolina. Salary will be commensurate with experience and accompanied by a generous benefits package.
