ANTICIPATED FACULTY POSITION FOR FALL 2026
Position subject to budget consideration and approvals
Position: Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing Full-Time, 10 Month - Tenure Track
Serving students and the college through teaching, advising, developing new programs and committee involvement
Essential Functions:
1. Teach courses in Nursing, teaching will include classroom, clinical, laboratory and simulation experiences
2. Fulfill all full-time faculty responsibilities as stipulated in the faculty contract
3. Maintain a proactive role in academic and curricular review; design/develop and evaluate curriculum including updating of the Learning Activity Plans and Degree sheets
4. Incorporate and utilize technology in classroom
5. Provide academic advisement
6. Serve on at least one (1) college/division committee
7. Participate in outcomes assessment activities at the course/dept./institutional level
8. Hold office hours at all times classes are in session
9. Maintain academic and/or professional currency credentials
10. In addition to daytime courses, may be expected to have evening/weekend assignments
11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
Master’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Experience:
College level teaching experience in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
· Doctorate degree in Nursing
· Community college level teaching experience.
Starting Rank and Salary: $60,600 - $70,436. Academic rank and salary will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
