ANTICIPATED FACULTY POSITION FOR FALL 2026

Position subject to budget consideration and approvals

Position: Instructor/Assistant Professor of Science Biology

Full-Time, 10 Month, Tenure Track

Serving students in Natural and Physical Sciences Program through both instruction and service.

Essential Functions:

1.     Teach courses in General Biology, Microbiology and other related fields, teaching will include lecture and lab courses

2.     Fulfill all full-time faculty responsibilities as stipulated in the faculty contract

3.     Maintain a proactive role in academic and curricular review; design/develop and evaluate curriculum including updating of the Learning Activity Plans and Degree sheets

4.     Incorporate and utilize technology in classroom

5.     Provide academic advisement

6.     Serve on at least one (1) college/division committee

7.     Participate in outcomes assessment activities at the course/dept./institutional level

8.     Hold office hours at all times classes are in session

9.     Maintain academic and/or professional currency credentials

10.  In addition to daytime courses, may be expected to have evening/weekend assignments

11.  Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

Master’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

Experience:

College level teaching experience.  Ability to teach more than one discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Community College teaching experience

·      Doctorate in Biology or related field

Starting Rank and Salary: $60,600 – $70,436. Academic rank and salary will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
