Kutztown University (KU) seeks nominations and applications for the Dean of the College of Business. Kutztown seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and visionary leader to provide effective and inclusive leadership, develop in-demand and industry-responsive programs, and enhance the College’s visibility with external partners.
Kutztown University is a modern regional public master's comprehensive institution and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many academic programs are also accredited, while the faculty is teaching-focused with scholarly expertise. They provide individual attention to students, and 90 percent of our tenure/tenure track faculty have doctorates or terminal degrees. KU is a warm, welcoming community that's grounded in a strong work ethic. The University’s 7,367 students, approximately 27% of whom are first-generation college students, are people of strong character who are willing to work hard to realize their potential. They come from 34 states and 40 nations, and 76,000 alumni can be found across the U.S. and beyond.
The College of Business currently comprises two academic departments – Sports Management and Business Administration, and houses both undergraduate and graduate majors. Academic programs in the college are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Commission on Sport Management (COSMA). The college is also home to the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center (PASBDC) statewide lead office, as well as the KU SBDC service center. All of the programs in the College have earned specialized accreditations: The Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) for the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and the Master of Business Administration. The College of Business consists of 1,375 undergraduate and graduate students taught by over 30 faculty members, who are highly committed to the success of the College’s students.
Reporting directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of the College of Business is the chief executive/academic officer for the College and is responsible for strategic planning, curricular leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels, program growth and development, hiring, fiscal management, outcomes assessment and accreditation, relationships with community organizations, faculty/staff advocacy and development, as well as advancement and fund raising. The Dean plays a vital role in fostering Kutztown University's core values and serves as the College's principal advocate for recruiting, student success, academic excellence, and alumni relations.
