The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a tenure -track position at the rank of Assistant or untenured Associate Professor in our finance area, with a school affiliation in the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Candidates would be appointed at the rank that is appropriate given their experience and performance. The intended start date of this position is July 1, 2026. The positions will be based in Ithaca, NY.
Responsibilities of each position include: 1) research in area(s) of expertise, 2) teaching basic and advanced courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and/or Ph.D. levels, 3) supervision of doctoral candidates, and 4) service to the Area, School, and College.
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Finance or a related field. Preferred candidates will demonstrate significant promise in research, teaching, and service and will complement and extend the strengths of the faculty of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan). The hires’ tenure home will be the Nolan School, but it is expected that faculty teach across the three schools within the College of Business.
The Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration is the top-ranked management program worldwide, with undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs. The Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan) has approximately 800 undergraduates and 60 graduate students. Founded in 1922, Nolan is an AACSB accredited business school, with a resident faculty of 65 and over 10,000 alumni worldwide. Important resources available to faculty include extraordinary access to industry leaders, excellent research funding, the Center for Hospitality Research (CHR), and the cultural and intellectual resources of the Cornell University community.

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the minimum annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 – $350,000. This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months, paid over 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
