The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or untenured Associate Professor level in the Operations, Technology, and Information Management (OTIM) area, with a school affiliation in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson). The intended start date of the position is July 1, 2026. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY.
Responsibilities of the position include teaching operations management courses, among others, for undergraduate-and graduate-level students within the college; producing high-quality research in the field of operations management, sustainability, information systems, data science, business analytics, and machine learning; supervision of doctoral students; and service to the academic community, the OTIM area, the SC Johnson College of Business, and the University at large.
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D., or be on track to completing one, in operations management or a related field such as operations research, industrial engineering, economics, statistics, computer science, or data science. Candidates in a related field must show a strong interest in operations, technology, and information management research and teaching.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan).
The Johnson School offers various MBA, Executive MBA, MPS, MSBA, and Ph.D. programs. Courses and programs are taught at Cornell’s main Ithaca campus, the Cornell Tech campus in New York City, and other locations across the globe.

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the minimum annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 – $350,000. This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months, paid over 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items. Cornell University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
