Compensation: Starting at $62,382.86/year plus excellent benefits including generous employer contributions to medical, dental and vision premiums, and participation in the Oregon PERS retirement system. This position also qualifies for a 5% bilingual pay differential.

A collaborative, equity-minded leader to serve as Instructor, Bilingual Early Childhood Education [Full-Time], with partial release for program coordination responsibilities. This Lead Instructor is a lifelong learner, who is responsible for creating, assessing, and continuously improving the policies, processes, and practices necessary to: facilitate equitable student learning and success; deliver excellent service; and, accomplish the work of the Instructional Services division. This division includes the departments of Academic Pathways, Teaching and Learning Foundations, and Community and Workforce Partnerships.
This full-time faculty role reports directly to the Vice President of Instructional Services, in the Education & Social Sciences. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and be driven by a genuine desire to advance the College’s Mission and Priorities. Accordingly, the Instructor will provide excellent service with a focus on closing equity gaps in educational access and attainment, and will work to promote inclusive prosperity throughout the Columbia Gorge region.
The Instructor will primarily teach and participate in college activities on campus in The Dalles and Hood River. Online and remote-synchronous instruction may also be assigned. Contract begins September 1, 2026.

Columbia Gorge Community College serves a diverse region in north-central Oregon and south-central Washington. Minimum Requirements….
Master's in the subject area (Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, etc.) or a Master's plus 30 graduate level credits in the subject area, or equivalent education and experience.
Degree earned from an accredited university, and the candidate must be eligible to teach in the United States.
Demonstrated Spanish-language bilingualism.
Ability to model and practice the college’s Guiding Principles of Open Communication, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Equity and Inclusion.
Preferred Experience….
Two years teaching in related area.
Experience teaching online using a Learning Management System (LMS), videoconferencing technology (Zoom), and HyFlex or other modalities.

Nestled in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area of Oregon and Washington, Columbia Gorge Community College served slightly more than 4,300 students (1,680 credit students) in 2016-17. Current FTE is 844. We aspire to better engage local populations that have been underrepresented in our student body, including Latinx, immigrants, Native Americans, and those from a background of multi-generational rural poverty.
The college prepares students for careers in nursing, renewable energy and related electro-mechanical fields, and business administration. The college is the only institution of higher education in the region, offering a gateway to four-year degrees through partner universities across Oregon.
The college’s main campus in The Dalles, Ore., (pop. 13,620) occupies 62 acres overlooking the Columbia River. The 13.5 acre Hood River campus is 30 minutes west.
