ADVISOR
The Advisor provides purposeful guidance to students, while empowering them to positively explore their academic and career identities, to achieve their desired credential and realize their career goals and aspirations. The Advisor works closely with the other members of their assigned School, to promote student success, retention, and completion (credentialing).
Essential Functions:
· Collaborate with Deans and entire Student Success Team to help promote retention and completion of all enrolled students
· Assist students with cover letters, resumes, interviewing, and social networking skills
· Provide transfer counseling services
· Assist with all academic, career, and transfer activities for assigned School
· Facilitate academic intervention strategies to vulnerable students
· Educate students on support services, financial literacy, college policies/procedures
· Educate students about degree requirements and academic and career pathways
· Engage students in supportive, open, collaborative relationships of excellence
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education or technical proficiency in appropriate field.
Experience: 1-2 year’s experience working directly with college students in a college setting (preferably community college setting) Experience with case management, strong communication and interpersonal skills and problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree
Starting Salary: $58,000 - $61,000
