President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) invites nominations and applications for the organization’s next President and CEO.
Founded in 1988, representatives from 150 leading business schools across the United States convened to establish a revolutionary approach to accreditation. They envisioned a new accrediting body that prioritized teaching excellence and student outcomes, which led to the establishment of the ACBSP. ACBSP’s founders were pioneers who immediately recognized the importance of inclusivity, ensuring that associate degree schools, private institutions, and religious institutions were integral to the accreditation process. This commitment has uniquely positioned ACBSP as the premier accrediting body for business education with over 1,100 global campuses.
To ensure a standard of excellence, ACBSP employs an accreditation process grounded in the Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence. This rigorous assessment examines key areas like leadership, strategic planning, program quality, faculty, and educational support, thereby confirming that business programs offer a demanding curriculum and an ongoing commitment to quality improvement.
Guided by the Board of Directors and supported by various committees, regional councils, and task forces, the President and CEO is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Council. As ACBSP’s chief executive, the President and CEO leads the organization’s mission, drives continuous improvement in business education, and oversees all strategic, administrative, and operational activities. This role ensures the implementation of adequate controls, administration, and reporting systems necessary to drive financial stability, expand membership, and maintain overall operating efficiency.
