Long Island University, School of Health Professions is searching for the next Program Director of the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). The school seeks an experienced, collaborative, innovative leader to lead the Psy.D. program and serve as a core member of the program faculty. This is an open rank tenure track position. The Psy.D. Program is a fully APA-Accredited, on probation (under appeal) Doctoral Program that follows the practitioner-scholar model with a unique dual theoretical orientation approach that integrates both cognitive‑behavioral and psychodynamic approaches. The program is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and personality assessment.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, energetic leader who will develop a forward-looking vision for the program grounded in its historic strengths, foster a healthy organizational culture and collaborative high functioning team, serve as a liaison and collaborative partner across the institution, build the research enterprise, and maintain a comprehensive system of data collection in accordance with APA accreditation standards. The program director should have a strong record of excellence in academic leadership, teaching, and scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed research and grant writing, and show enthusiasm to continue growing the academic, research, and clinical training aspects of the Psy.D. program.
LIU has retained Isaacson, Miller, a national executive search firm, to assist in this recruitment. The target salary for this role is $150,000-$165,000.
