Founded in 1871, the University of Central Missouri is one of the oldest universities in the state. It is home to 13,734 students (Spring 2024) representing 48 states and 49 countries. UCM has a rich heritage of providing unparalleled student support, exceptional academic programs and valuable learning opportunities.
Today, UCM offers more than 150 graduate and undergraduate programs on two campuses, online and on-site at Whiteman Air Force Base. The 388 members of our faculty continue to distinguish themselves daily as scholars, mentors and community leaders in and outside our modern classrooms, labs and performance centers. Their efforts' impact is evident in our students' success and our numerous national accreditations. All programs at UCM are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. UCM is also a state leader in program-specific accreditations by national accrediting organizations.
