Department SSD: M. A. Programs Administration - Staff and Temporary Employees About the Department The MA program in Computational Social Science (MACSS), the MA program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS), and the Committee on International Relations (CIR) invite applications for a full-time Student Affairs Administrator. The three programs have a combined 525 MA students, an academic staff of 35, and an administrative staff of 8. This hire would be of principal service to the MACSS program, as the Student Affairs Administrator for approximately 120 first and second year students. The hire would also be part of our MA Administrative Staff, with some responsibilities extending to MAPSS and CIR in addition to MACSS. The MA program in Computational Social Science (MACSS) is a two-year academic program that offers students the opportunity to develop and apply important computational tools to problems of massive societal interest. Students take a defined curriculum, with a three course “Perspectives on Computational Analysis” sequence, a three-course introduction to computer science and computer programming, and a mix of graduate social science and advanced computational methods taken from faculty across the University of Chicago.
