Founded in 1968, Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is a public, comprehensive multi-campus, state-supported community college located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida's west coast. The College operates five campuses and one two center in Hillsborough County to serve approximately 44,000 students and ranks 5th in size among the 28 community colleges in Florida. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits Hillsborough Community College to award certificates, diplomas and associate degrees. Multiple national organizations accredit or approve Hillsborough Community College's health science programs.
The College offers the following academic programs:
* University Transfer Program in Associate in Arts (AA) - this program offers the first two years of a traditional four-year program leading to a bachelor's degree. Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded an associate's degree and may transfer as juniors to state four-year college and universities and to private institutions.
* Technical Programs Associate in Science (AS) and Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) - a broad range of technical programs are available for students who plan to pursue technical careers or careers as paraprofessionals.
