The Department emphasizes the areas of Earth system and geographic information science, as well as population, urban, and economic systems. We offer Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Geography and have several outstanding research facilities, including the Urban and Sustainability Research Laboratory, the Utah Remote Sensing Applications Laboratory, the Utah Geo-Health Lab, the Center for Natural and Technological Hazards, the Geospatial Intelligence Lab, and the Digitally Integrated Geographic Information Technologies (DIGIT) Lab. The department administers a professional MSGIS in addition to certificates in Geographic Information Science, Hazards & Emergency Management, and Climate Change.
