JOB TITLE: Assistant/Associate Professor in Special Education
DEPARTMENT: School Counseling, School Psychology & Special Education
APPOINTMENT PERCENTAGE: 100%
ANTICIPATED START DATE: January or August 2016
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: 
  • Doctorate or currently enrolled in a doctoral program in Special Education or a closely related field with completion of doctorate by employment start date
  • Graduate degree in Special Education or closely related field
  • Licensable/certifiable in Special Education
  • Three years of full time teaching experience within the PK-12 schools
  • Strong evidence of leadership in higher education
 
Preferred:
  • Ability to teach using distance education strategies including online courses, blended learning and distributed learning
  • A history of leadership, scholarship and service in higher education
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate and graduate education courses in the area of Special Education, supervise student teachers and collaborate with the School of Education’s special education recruitment coordinator.  Teach on campus and online courses in Special Education.  Leadership roles as designated.
