The George H. Atkinson Graduate School of Management is the home of the Willamette MBA programs and part of Willamette University; a nationally renowned private university located in Salem, Oregon.
Willamette University was founded in 1842 and is the first university established in the Western United States. The University's motto is "Not unto ourselves alone are we born." The University consists of an undergraduate college of liberal arts and two graduate schools; the Atkinson Graduate School of Management and the College of Law. Willamette has a long history of providing innovative, professional education. It established the first law school in the Northwest and pioneered the development of the integrated, cross-functional, and cross-sector philosophy of management education when it opened the Atkinson Graduate School of Management in 1974.
The Atkinson School is committed to preparing students for leadership and management roles in business, government and not-for-profit organizations. This commitment is prominently featured in our mission statement and our programming. All Willamette MBA programs are accredited for business administration by AACSB International. The Willamette MBA for Early Career and Career Change students is also accredited by NASPAA - The Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration. As one of only two MBA programs in the world to achieve dual accreditation in both business and public administration, the Willamette MBA provides the rare benefit of professional education and career opportunities in all sectors.
The Atkinson School concentrates on the master's level of education and offers two MBA programs: the full-time Willamette Early Career/Career Change MBA program in Salem, and the evening Willamette MBA for Professionals program in Salem and Portland. The school also offers continuing education for managers through the Executive Development Center.
