
Senior Assistant Vice President, Integrated Marketing Communications
Old Dominion University (ODU) invites applications and nominations for an experienced and visionary marketing leader to serve as the next Senior Assistant Vice President for Integrated Marketing Communications (SAVP). This is a strategic and high-impact executive role reporting directly to the Vice President for University Communications and Chief Marketing Officer.
The SAVP will shape and lead an integrated marketing strategy that advances ODU’s mission, strengthens its brand, and increases the University’s visibility on local, national, and global levels. As the second-in-command for University Communications, the SAVP provides executive-level guidance and oversees a dynamic portfolio, including creative services, digital strategy, programmatic marketing, videography and photography, and brand communications.
This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, data-informed, and innovative leader to help launch and sustain the University’s new brand identity and serve as a trusted advisor and partner to academic and administrative units across a complex institutional environment.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include a graduate degree and a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in strategic marketing and communications, including five years in a senior leadership role within a complex organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of building high-performing teams, driving multichannel strategies, aligning marketing with institutional priorities, developing and executing an integrated marketing communications plan and leading with integrity.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree and extensive experience in higher education marketing leadership.
