LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $63,000
Degree Required: PhD or EdD from a regionally accredited college or university in education, educational psychology, curriculum & instruction, statistics, or a closely related field prior to appointment date. ABD considered.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to develop and deliver online courses
- Committed to program assessment and to effective supervision of student teachers.
Preferred Qualifications: - Successful experience teaching in public K-12 schools.
- Successful experience teaching college courses, both face-to-face and online.
- Experience supervising student teaching internships.
- Expertise in statistics and data analysis.
- Ability to implement new curriculum.
- Potential for scholarship demonstrated by publications, presentations, or grants.
- Active in relevant professional organizations.
- Experience teaching and mentoring graduate students.
- Experience providing academic advising for Teacher Education majors.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach 24 adjusted credit hours per academic year as assigned by Division Chair (teaching assignments may include online instruction); Supervise student teaching internships in the schools; advise Teacher Education majors; be actively involved in relevant professional organizations; develop a record of publications, presentations, and grants; participate in Teacher Education program assessment; serve on division and campus committees; work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
