The Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) is recruiting a BC/BE Vascular Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This is an opportunity to join a growing group of academic surgeons. This position is designated for a vascular surgeon with an established research portfolio with existing funding or an intention to pursue funding. Start-up funds commensurate with the research portfolio are available. Areas of focus may include clinical outcomes, translational, informatics, or basic science research. The position will have a 6/8ths appointment at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, including dedicated time for research. The ideal candidate would possess at least 3-5 years of experience, with excellent clinical and a collaborative approach to patient care.
The position includes providing patient care at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, which sits adjacent to the LUMC campus. On-call coverage encompasses the VA hospital in addition to LUMC. For weekend call (one weekend every other month), the nearby Loyola Medicine affiliated community medical centers will be included , Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital.
Loyola's Vascular Surgery division has a longstanding history of dedication to vascular surgery trainee education and currently offers a 2-year fellowship as well as a 0+5 integrated residency program. There are numerous opportunities for faculty involvement in the education and mentorship of medical students and trainees. The candidate would be joining a group of 8 full-time vascular surgeons, including Dr. Vivian Gahtan, Chair of Loyola’s Department of Surgery and Dr. Bernadette Aulivola, Director of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy.
