The Opportunity
The School of Public Administration in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-earning assistant professor position, anticipated to begin in Fall 2025.
The selected candidate will contribute to the School of Public Administration's mission by adding research and teaching expertise in public administration and public policy disciplines. The ideal candidate will be able to teach core public administration courses in person and online at the graduate and undergraduate levels and have an active and sustainable research agenda with a focus in his/her field. The ideal candidate will also be expected to contribute to the Ph.D. in public affairs program and be highly motivated and active in public administration professional associations. Core courses include general administrative theory and public management, administration of public policy, human resources, fiscal and financial management, strategic planning and management, and research methods, and contribution to the Ph.D. program includes teaching and participation on dissertation committees.
The highly ranked School of Public Administration offers NASPAA accredited Master of Public Administration and Master of Nonprofit Management (first accredited nonprofit program in the world by NASPAA) programs, a PAB accredited Master of Science in Urban & Regional Planning, a Master of Emergency and Crisis Management, a Ph.D. in Public Affairs, undergraduate public administration, nonprofit management, and emergency management degrees, a first of its kind international dual degree in Public Administration/Nonprofit Management, and graduate and undergraduate certificate program and minors (Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, and Urban and Regional Planning). The School of Public Administration also has one of the largest PA programs in the Southeast with active partnerships with state and local government and community nonprofit agencies, and it is located in the state-of-the art facility with access to full equipped multimedia classrooms at the UCF Downtown Orlando campus.
