As the university’s chief financial officer, the vice president will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship for a broad range of operations, including budget and strategic financial planning, controller and student business services, facilities services, human resources, payroll, and purchasing and contract management. The VPAF or designee serves as a non-voting, ex-officio member and acts as Treasurer of the MSU Foundation, Inc. The VPAF provides proactive, integrated financial planning that optimizes resources in support of the university's mission and strategic priorities. This leadership and oversight ensure the highest and best use of university resources, fostering a sense of financial stability and security. The ideal candidate will also possess a collegial, collaborative leadership style and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The Vice President for Administration and Finance is a cabinet-level position that reports to the university president.
Applicants must have a master’s degree in business administration, economics, or a closely related field of study. CPA certification and/or a doctorate are preferred.
