The Department of Advertising and Public Relations in the Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in public relations, to begin July 1, 2025. Candidates with a Ph.D. or other related terminal degree are preferred, but we will consider candidates who are ABD at the time of application.
We seek a colleague with an active research agenda that could employ a range of research methods to address issues relevant to public relations. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of publishing in peer-reviewed outlets that fit their research focus. We seek a colleague who can teach across our curriculum with a particular strength in at least one or more of the following areas: public relations research methods, public relations theory, global communication, communicating organizational change, leading groups and team building, law and ethics in public relations, digital analytics, and/or emerging technology.
Overall, successful candidates will have a track record or potential for impactful scholarship, dynamic and inclusive teaching, and openness to collaborate on scholarly and applied initiatives. We seek a colleague who can contribute to teaching, mentoring, and programmatic development at the undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. levels. Industry experience is looked upon favorably, but it is not required.
The Department of Advertising and Public Relations has more than 400 undergraduate students across two undergraduate majors and four minors. Faculty members may contribute to Klein’s graduate programs including a Communication Management master’s program and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Media and Communication as well as several graduate and undergraduate certificates.
The Lew Klein College of Media and Communication is among the largest comprehensive colleges of communication in the nation. The college enrolls nearly 2,000 undergraduate students and more than 100 graduate students.
