BRCC is seeking a Web Communications Coordinator to maintain and enhance an innovative, high quality website for the College.
Duties:
- Maintains and enhances Blue Ride Community College’s (BRCC) overall web presence through interactive website design that is functional and visually appealing.
- Maintains and develops WordPress platform, modules, and themes.
- Manages accessibility for the College website. Ensures the website meet the requirements, policies, and standards of the College, Virginia Community College System, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA level).
- Creates and implements web-related process efficiencies.
- Collaborates with divisions, departments and programs to create and enhance content, design, and features for web pages.
- Uses Google Analytics and other tools to continually monitor usage and effectiveness of College’s online activities and adjusts or recommends improvements, accordingly.
- Assists with College social media accounts, including maintaining the BRCC YouTube channel.
- Assists with College Intranet (SharePoint).
- Serves as an administrator for the Colleges digital signage. Creates content for digital signage. Provides training on the usage of the college’s digital signage software.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KSA's/Required Qualifications:
- Experience in maintaining dynamic, medium-scale websites
- Experience in Content Management Systems, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite products, and Microsoft Office Suite software
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Web Standards (W3W) and Web Accessibility Standards (WCAG and Section 508) including PDF accessibility for website usage, and user interface/experience design.
- Experience maintaining cross-platform compatibility with desktop, tablet, and mobile website technologies; web design tools; social media administration.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills. Strong proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of image authoring tools, for cropping, resizing, or performing small adjustments to images, as well as basic video editing skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work with a team.
