Reporting to the Director of Leadership Annual Gifts, the primary responsibilities for the Associate Director include identifying and qualifying prospects, soliciting and closing four and five-figure philanthropic gifts; and assisting regional major gift officers build a pipeline of Major Gifts prospects/donors to advance the strategic priorities of Loyola University Chicago. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing a portfolio of rated prospects assigned to a geographic region(s) and for establishing and achieving annual performance metrics.
This position is based in our Chicago (Lewis Towers) office, with the opportunity to work from home in the greater Chicago area. On occasion, an in-office presence in the Lewis Towers office may be required.
- Manage a portfolio of assigned leadership annual gift prospects. Through personal and virtual engagement, identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward prospects for leadership and potential major level gifts.
- Meet activity and revenue goals through personal outreach and regular travel.
- Formulate and implement strategies for short-and long-term giving outcomes, devising performance metrics, and collaborating with major gift officer(s) in assigned region.
- Collaborates appropriately and effectively with University departments and Advancement colleagues to help engage them in ways that advance Loyola’s leadership annual-gift level fundraising objectives.
- Offer prospects strategy counsel, coordinate appointments and prepare any required materials for prospect meetings or phone calls with Dean, alumni volunteers, faculty, and/or other senior administrators with alumni and friends within the assigned prospect pool.
- Ensure compliance with prospect management guidelines for data entry and metric tracking.
- Attend regularly scheduled University and Advancement meetings.
- Create monthly reports, as required by management, which accurately reflect activity and performance and track progress toward meeting fundraising goals.
