Job Description

The Theatre School at DePaul University invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in the Theatre Studies department available in the fall of 2018.

Responsibilities: Teaching a range of classes in the BFA Theatre Studies curriculum, advising students, supervising student work on productions, facilitating internship placements, recruiting students and involvement in The Theatre School’s production activities.

We seek a dynamic individual with substantive experience in arts administration with a focus on theatrical performance and production and demonstrated success as an arts leader. The ideal candidate will be able to advise theatre management majors, teach an Introduction to Theatre Management course, and offer other courses that contribute to or expand on the existing Theatre Studies curriculum. These areas may include but are not limited to: other courses in the Theatre Management curriculum, education and engagement, theatre for young audiences, directing, dramaturgy, applied theatre, international and contemporary performance, and dramatic literature and history from a global perspective. The school seeks a faculty member who brings a critical perspective to issues of diversity and multicultural education. MFA, PhD or professional equivalent required, with experience in post-secondary teaching preferred. The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to continuing work in the profession as well as a commitment to full-time teaching, collegiality, and the collaborative process.
