Job Description

The Theatre School at DePaul University invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track one-year position in Theatre Studies, available in the fall of 2017. 


Responsibilities: Teaching a range of classes in the BFA Theatre Studies curriculum, advising students, supervising student work on productions, recruiting students and involvement in The Theatre School’s production activities.

We seek a dynamic individual with substantive experience in both professional theatre and post-secondary teaching to offer courses in areas that complement and expand upon the existing core curriculum. These areas include, but are not limited to, dramatic literature and theatre history from a global perspective, TYA dramaturgy and literature, text analysis, and theory as immersive and performative practice. The School seeks a faculty member who brings a critical perspective to issues of diversity and multicultural education. MFA, PhD or professional equivalent required, with experience in post-secondary teaching strongly preferred. The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to continuing work in the profession as well as a commitment to full-time teaching, collegiality, and the collaborative process.
