COORDINATOR, INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN AND FACULTY SUPPORT Division of Continuing & Professional Education University of Massachusetts Amherst The Coordinator will support faculty and staff to develop and deliver high quality distance instruction through the effective and innovative use of technology. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Educational Technology or related field plus two or more years’ experience or Master’s degree in same plus one or more years’ experience. Experience in: design and development of technology-based instructional content across a broad range of disciplines; providing technical support and delivery of technical training; integrating graphic, text and audio elements in multi-media learning materials. Proven experience designing and developing clear instructional materials in written, graphic, audio, video or multimedia form. Experience working with instructors in a higher education environment preferred. Supervisory experience is also preferred. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to proofread, edit, and produce effective written materials and presentations. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and public relations skills. Must possess a customer-service driven and team-oriented approach. In-depth technical knowledge of online Learning Management Systems used in higher education (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, Desire2Learn or similar systems). Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design theories and methodologies, cross-platform networks, creating and editing webpages and websites. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, work independently and/or with multiple constituencies, speak or make presentations before groups, and conduct effective training. Must be a self-starter and be able to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, accomplish goals, and meet deadlines. Strong skills in IT, visual presentation, writing/editing with creativity and attention to detail. Required to work some nights and weekends.
