Immediate opening for a qualified Quality and Operational Improvement Coordinator to join University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals. Ensure the testing of pharmaceutical products and raw materials are done in a manner that will meet FDA and/or pharmaceutical requirements. Consult with clients and project leaders regarding sample amounts, test specifications, and preferred lab. Work with UIP units to meet equipment cleaning qualifications. Perform shipping and receiving activities for the analytical laboratory at UIP. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, bachelor’s degree in the sciences preferred. Demonstrates a working level of proficiency in the following competencies/qualifications: • Quality assurance, quality control, auditing, process improvement or similar work; • Written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors. Demonstrates a basic level of proficiency and/or experience in: • Laboratory testing • Universal Competencies (Collaboration and Embracing Diversity, Service Excellence/Customer Focus and Positive Impact/Achieving Results) • Microsoft Office or comparable software Physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation: • Move up to and including 50 lbs • Achieve passing criteria in visual testing (minimum of 20/20 visual acuity with or without corrected lenses)* • Achieve passing criteria in the Ishihara Color test • Be able to wear a respirator** • Ability to stand for extended periods of time *Evaluation will be conducted by the University of Iowa Employee Health Clinic. **Applicants may provide current respirator clearance certification dated within six months of the date of the offer, from a similar health clinic or health provider in lieu of the evaluation by UI Employee Health Clinic. Baseline bloodwork will be required at time of hire and annually thereafter due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals. Salary is $36,944-$43,039.
