Job Description: The Development Prospect Researcher/Analyst undertakes comprehensive research to identify individuals who have the financial capability and possible interest to be major and principal gift donors to the University at Albany Foundation. Once identified, the Researcher/Analyst updates the information in the alumni database and briefs relevant University personnel on the details of the individual regarding their wealth and lifestyle. Specific duties include: Undertake research to identify major gift prospects and regularly communicate research results to assigned development staff Respond to requests for updated information on already identified individuals Provide comprehensive briefings regarding career, wealth, and philanthropic interests to assigned Development staff, deans, and senior University staff Compile biographical and financial information, build donor profiles, and respond to requests for information; enter compiled information into the Ellucian Colleague database Monitor a variety of on-line, electronic, and printed sources, such as the Internet, SEC documents, newspapers, periodicals, Google, and wealth screening data to identify and qualify prospective individual, corporate and foundation donors Request and run reports from the Ellucian Colleague database Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization At least one year of professional, related experience Experience with data entry and reporting activities with relational databases Excellent writing skills Knowledge of fee-based research databases such as WealthEngine, Guidestar, AlumniFinder, DonorSearch, and Lexis-Nexis Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
