FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: The Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College invites applications for the position of lecturer, doctoral schedule. The start date is August 25, 2017. The position requires teaching global governance and other related courses for the Master of International Affairs. The candidate will also be expected to teach general public affairs courses with a civic engagement focus for the Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and the Master of Public Administration. The position requires teaching multiple fully-online and hybrid courses. Some courses will be offered in cooperation with foreign institutions and will necessitate transnational interactions. The position entails a 9-course (27 credits) per academic year teaching load. A research agenda is not required. The position is a non-tenure track one-year appointment with annual renewals possible but not guaranteed. The lecturer, doctoral schedule is eligible for a Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE) upon a sixth full-time appointment in the title that follows immediately five years of continuous service in the title. QUALIFICATIONS: For appointment as lecturer, doctoral schedule the candidate must have completed a doctorate prior to the teaching starting date for the fall 2017 semester. The position is open to any academic discipline. The successful candidate is expected to have a significant record of teaching fully-online and/or hybrid courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will provide evidence of an in-depth understanding of global financial institutions, international governance bodies, and the application of qualitative and quantitative methods to the study of global governance.
