Statement of Duties: The Construction Representative for University Housing position provides both specialized and generalized support assistance functions for both facilities projects and maintenance operations in a wide range and combination of activities. The position assists the Assistant Director of Housing-Facilities, the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, the Project Manager, and other Housing officials with the general supervision of projects, responses to maintenance work orders, facilitation of internally performed and externally performed (contracted) work, and assures that all project or operational work is conducted in accordance with plans and specifications, within scope, budget and on schedule. Further, this position is a multiple site position and is a conduit for communications with campus, departmental, and student stakeholders as well as external contractors. Minimum Qualifications: Previous project management experience Basis computer skills including experience with word processing, spreadsheet manipulation, and data base operation The ability to work overtime, evenings, or weekends as dictated by operational need Preferred Qualifications: 1. Associate degree or higher in engineering, construction, or related field 2. Experience using maintenance management software (e.g., TMA) 3. Work experience within a university or state agency complex 4. Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints 5. Knowledge in researching, designing and preparing plans and specifications for diverse projects 6. Work experience conducting on-site investigations to determine existing conditions and preparing plans for remodeling or repair projects Summary of the Appointment Benefits and Salary: This position is a full-time University Staff position with a competitive salary and benefit package.
